Institutional Membership
Dear Prospective Institutional Members,
Institutional members play a key role in supporting the mission of
the International Goat Association. Through important partnerships,
the IGA is uniting leaders around the world, building a strong network
of institutions, scientists, academics, producers and other devoted
individuals and organizations. The benefits are clear and we hope you
will join us together as an Institutional Member as we work to advocate
the importance of goats in alleviating poverty through socially just,
environmentally sound and economically viable goat production.
2007 marks the 25th Anniversary of IGA and we are especially proud
of the accomplishments of our members and our long history. IGA continues
to rely on both individual and institutional members to play an active
role in our organization, your community, country and world. Through
the years, with the strong support of our dedicated members, the IGA
has successfully:
- Linked a global network of producers, scientists and institutions
to share best practices and help combat poverty, promote prosperity
and improve quality of life for people around the world;
- United leaders from around the world through the International Conference
on Goats, a premier event for industry researchers, practitioners
and other devoted individuals and institutions;
- Developed a credible and reputable journal, Small Ruminant Research;
- Put science into practice by linking research institutions with
rural and community development programs;
- Served as a valuable strategic networking resource for members around
the globe, helping them share vital knowledge, forge partnerships
and develop exciting new technologies;
- Sponsored a multitude of conferences targeted for specific regions
of the world;
- Consistently assembled a dynamic and diverse board of directors
to lead the IGA and its work into the future;
- Developed a highly regarded reputation for advocating the importance
of goats in alleviating poverty through socially just, environmentally
sound and economically viable goat production.
The International Goat Association offers four types of Institutional
Memberships:
- Ambassador
- Silver
- Gold

As the IGA plans for the future, the involvement of institutions is
critical to work around the globe. As we begin a new year, I would like
personally invite your institution to be a partner of this important
network by becoming an Institutional Member. Join us as an Institutional
Member and partner with us to help change the landscape of poverty in
our world. For more information, please contact us at goats@heifer.org
With your support we will continue to expand and improve upon our efforts
of the past. Your membership ensures that our efforts to highlight the
importance of goats for improving the lives of people throughout the
world will continue for another 25 years! Together, we can make a difference
– and helping to change the landscape of poverty in our world.
Sincerely,
Chris Lu
